Privacy
OutageHawk is run by Krinologic Ltd, Ireland, which is responsible for the data described here. It collects as little as it can. No accounts, no ads, no tracking cookies, no third-party analytics.
Just visiting
We count page views and where visitors came from (for example "Google" or "Bluesky") as daily totals. To count each visitor once a day, your IP address and browser name are run through a one-way hash with a random key that is kept only in memory and thrown away every day. That hash is never saved. Nothing about you as a person is stored.
We set no cookies for visitors. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (including IP addresses) for a short time to run and protect the service.
Everything on the page, fonts included, comes from outagehawk.com. Your browser doesn't contact any other company when you visit.
Reporting a problem
When you report that a service isn't working, we store which service and when. To stop the same person reporting twice in 30 minutes, we keep a hash of your IP address made with the same daily random key. We delete it after 30 minutes, and the reports themselves after 30 days.
Checking a website
When you check a website, we fetch it from our server. We don't keep a record of what you checked.
Email alerts and site monitoring
If you sign up for outage alerts or to monitor a site, we store your email address, what you asked to watch, and when you signed up. We use it only to send those emails. Every email has a one-click link to stop them, which deletes the sign-up. If you don't confirm a sign-up, we delete it after 7 days.
Who handles the data
The site runs on Railway (hosting), with the database on Supabase. Emails are sent by Resend. We don't sell or share your data with anyone else.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at social@outagehawk.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in Ireland, the Data Protection Commission).
