How to tell if a website is down for everyone or just you
When a website won't load, the first question is: is it down for everyone, or just you?
1. Check it from somewhere else
Enter the address in the check any website box. OutageHawk loads the site from its own server, not from your connection. If it loads there, the problem is probably on your end.
2. Check the service's status
For popular hosts and apps, see the OutageHawk status list. We check each one every 3 minutes and include the company's official status page and reports from other users.
3. If it's just you, try these
- Try another browser or a private window to rule out your cache and extensions.
- Switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data, or turn off your VPN.
- Restart your router. If many sites are failing, contact your internet provider.
If it's your own website that's down, choose "Email me" after checking it and we'll tell you when it goes down again.
